With All Senses
How do sound, smell and touch shape our behaviour? What kind of influence does non-verbal communication have on our experiences, and in what way do our senses influence our life together as a community? We encounter different people and new situations on a daily basis, take these experiences in “With All Senses”, and closely connect our perception with emotions and attitudes. The Union of the Academies and the Schering Foundation illuminated the world of senses and their influence on our communal life across four theme nights in their collective series “With All Senses: How we live together”. The series took place in cooperation with the Museum for Communication Berlin.
Salon Sophie Charlotte
The Union of the Academies has been participating for some years with various contributions in the Salon Sophie Charlotte of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, where it presents research projects from the Academies Programme. Once a year, the Salon and its partners open the academy doors at Gendarmenmarkt in order to shine a light on a specific topic in various facets through artistic-scientific contributions, such as discussion forums, lectures, music and performances.
Further Discussion Forums
The Union of the Academies comes together routinely with its cooperation partners in public scientific-political debates and publishes opinion pieces and position papers. In the context of public events, the working groups of the Union of the Academies present their results and discuss them with community and political representatives and the media.
