The
Office of the Union of the German Academies of Sciences
and Humanities was set up in 1993. It supports the Executive Board
in the fulfilment of its many and varied tasks, manages the work of the
Union's organs, committees and working groups, and is in charge of
press and public relations work for the Union and the Academies'
Programme. In addition, it organises the Union's international
relations and provides all services required in connection with the
Academies' Programme. In 2003 the Union set up a liason office in
Berlin, which is responsible for the lobbying on behalf of the Union as
well as for the Union's press and public relations work.
