International Relations
InterAcademy Council (IAC)
The InterAcademy Council (IAC) emerged from fringe meetings during the World Economic Summit and was formally constituted at the IAP’s general assembly at Tokyo in April 2000. It has 15 permanent members, including Germany. Its aim is to provide scientific advice on global questions to international organisations such as the United Nations or the World Bank. The IAC considers itself as an advisory body on international finance and currency issues.
