European Academies Science Advisory Council (EASAC)

In the year 2000 the initiative "European Academies Science Advisory Council" (EASAC) was founded at the instigation of the Royal Society, London. It consists of representatives from 17 European countries nominated by their national academies. EASAC's task is to provide independent advice to the European Parliament.
